Su's Interview with Mary Venus from the Winter 2022-2023 Newsletter

To help all Comforter Ministry readers get to know the NEW CM TEAM a little better, I plan to take the next three CM newsletters and introduce these three gifted ladies to you through a series of interview questions.

1. Please introduce yourself to CMN Readers… My name is Mary Venus. I was born in Omaha, NE and grew up in a pastor’s household in Milwaukee, WI. I am a Martin Luther Preparatory High School graduate and Wisconsin Lutheran College graduate with a degree in psychology. I have been married for 10 years and have four stepchildren and 10 grandchildren. I have been working in IT since 1997 and am retiring the end of 2022. ​I am an avid quilter since 1991…and I hate baking!
2. What made you decide to take on Comforter Ministry, Inc.? My friend Judy Anderson informed me of the search for someone to take over CM due to your retirement and since she has been a quilter for CM since 2011 and didn’t want to see the ministry end, she encouraged me to step forward. After several months of pondering the possibility of sharing this new endeavor with her, I made the decision to say “yes.”
3. What three (3) things do you want friends of CM to know about you? * Although I have never had cancer myself, I have helped raise money for cancer. * I enjoy the outdoors and sitting in a deer stand :) * I enjoy music…and hate baking!
4. What is your favorite Bible passage? “Be still and know that I am God…” Psalm 46:10
