Comforter Ministry - News & Notes
Anxiety does not allow us to see things clearly
It is hard to believe that 2024 is already in full swing. Time seems to fly by as we get older and yet we look forward to our eternal home which will be our forever home!
One passage from the Bible has been coming up often for me, so I thought I would share it with you.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
Anxiety is such a strong emotion/feeling. It can cause physical ailments and can weaken our faith. When we have those anxious moments, we need to take to heart the passage above and lean into our Savior, Jesus Christ. He is the ultimate comforter. He knows what anxiety feels like because he came to our world as a human and lived through all human emotions, trials, and temptations. What is so amazing is that he overcame the world. He tells us that in John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. What amazing news!
The devil is the father of all lies, and he will twist and turn the truth in ways that we might doubt our faith. He twisted God the Father’s words in the Garden of Eden when he tempted Adam and Eve, and he even twisted God’s Word when tempting Jesus Christ in the wilderness. We need to keep edifying our faith and continue to focus on the triune God. God is there for us and he will always protect us, no matter what the devil throws our way!
GOD'S SAFEKEEPING BIBLE VERSE -
"Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope. My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life." (Psalm 119:49-50).
REMEMBER - If you know of a woman diagnosed with cancer and would like a Comforter Ministry Quilt and Journal sent to them, please contact us!
By God's grace, we continue to have what we need for quilts with all of the requests that we have had in the last couple of months. With God's help (and some pretty fabulous quilters and donors), we are ready, willing, and able to send quilts and journals to women who can be comforted by them and the love of the Comforter!
Do you have a quilt top that you would love to donate but it needs to be quilted?
There are two longarm quilters that have generously offered to longarm quilts for Comforter Ministry. As the top maker, you would be responsible for making the top, providing a backing that is 4" larger than the top in all directions and shipping them to the longarm quilter. They will provide the batting, longarm quilting and return shipping to you. If interested, please contact them to discuss.

Words to Share...
I am not quite sure I can find the words to write in thanking you for this beautiful quilt that I will be using to get through my cancer treatment. It’s amazing how God always seems to find the most perfect way and timing to tell us not just who we are but “Whose” we are? That no matter how we feel in the moment that we are never ever alone.
Today was that day for me. The scriptures written in the journal for me to read were the answers to prayers just prayed this morning. That I'm still somewhat shaking with just how He chose to answer me today.
Please know that I will wrap up in this comforter for the remainder of my chemo sessions and also use it afterward for my radiation as well.
Thank you, Terra - Germantown, WI for sharing your thoughts and feelings with us. It is so helpful and encouraging to hear how the quilt and journal that you received has affected you. You are in our prayers as you go through your treatments.
Thank you for taking over Comforter Ministry. I received a quilt 6 1/2 years ago. I kept my quilt. When I am feeling blue, I use it to bring me comfort knowing Jesus is with me and I am not alone.
Thank you, Cindy - Hastings, MN for sharing your thoughts and supporting this ministry. We are so thankful that you are still getting comfort from the Ultimate Comforter!
